Written during a tour of China with trad musical scholars and masters Bill Ivey, Howard and Judy Sacks, and Larry Nager. Floating down the Pearl River one night in Guangzhou, the song laid itself out for me, an inverted blues of sorts quickly penned back at the hotel room. Cut live for this album in one take with the amazing Malagasy guitarist, Mikahely, playing in beautiful call-and-response fashion. Mika, I remain in awe!
